Did You Know...

Orchestra of New Spain takes its name from the vast colonial-era territory that once stretched across present-day Texas, Mexico, and the American Southwest. Rather than simply celebrating that history, our mission is to recover the music that came out of it — the composers, genres, and traditions that emerged from this cultural crossroads and have been largely overlooked ever since.
